Siteseeing by Ariel Gordon and Brenda Schmidt was published by At Bay Press in October, 2023.





Brenda's sixth book Culverts Beneath the Narrow Road was published by Thistledown Press in May 2018. 



Brenda's work is included in The Best of the Best Canadian Poetry in English: Tenth Anniversary Edition (Tightrope Books, 2017). 




On April 1, 2017, Brenda became the seventh Saskatchewan Poet Laureate.

Commencing in 2000, the Saskatchewan Poet Laureate Program was the first provincial program of its kind in Canada. The Saskatchewan Arts Board, Saskatchewan Book Awards, and the Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild are partners in the program, which is under the patronage of the Lieutenant Governor, Her Honour the Honourable Vaughn Solomon Schofield.
Communities, non-profit organizations, service organizations, and educational institutions may submit applications requesting the participation of the Saskatchewan Poet Laureate at a special event in Saskatchewan.
